Mrs. Kristy James

Dear Largo Middle School Community,

It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the new principal of Largo Middle School. I am truly honored to join such a strong school community and look forward to partnering with our students, families, staff, and community as we continue to build upon the great things going on at Largo Middle.

I am a proud product of the Pinellas County Schools system. Throughout my K–12 time in Pinellas County Schools, I gained experiences that shaped not only my academic foundation, but also my deep appreciation for the power of public education and the life changing impact of dedicated educators.

After graduating from East Lake High School, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Mathematics from the University of Central Florida. In addition, I attended Stetson University for my Educational Leadership degree. My educational journey, combined with my experiences as a teacher, instructional coach and administrator, has prepared me to serve our middle school students during this critical and transformative stage of their development.

For the past four years, I have had the privilege of serving as the Principal of Ponce de Leon Elementary School. During that time, I worked alongside an incredible team of educators to strengthen instruction, elevate student achievement, and create a positive and inclusive school culture focused on growth and opportunity for every child. I am ready to bring that same passion and high expectations to Largo Middle.

I am excited to begin this new chapter with you. Largo Middle School’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and student success makes it a special place, and I am proud to now call Tiger Nation home.
